Best Breakfast Options at Taco Bell

It can be rather frustrating having to deal with cooking breakfast in the morning when you’re rushing to work. There’s just no time for making breakfast. The good news is that you can head on out to Taco Bell, especially when you’re tired of the same breakfast menu items you often see in other fast-food restaurants. There’s a breakfast section in the Taco Bell menu and prices are reasonable, so what’s not to love?

But which menu options are the best for breakfast? That’s entirely up to you, of course, but if you’re not sure, start with the following fantastic morning munchies:

Breakfast Crunchwrap

Basically, Taco Bell just made a breakfast variant of their famous Crunchwrap Supreme. This is probably the most popular breakfast option here, and it’s easy enough to understand why. The combined flavors of the various ingredients are just fantastic.

The spotlight here is on the hash browns and the creamy jalapeño sauce, and both really start your day right. There’s just something about biting into the lightly-fried hash brown patty, especially when this bite also includes the taste of bacon, cheese, and egg. Then that delightful creamy, sweet jalapeño sauce that melds everything together nicely, and it’s just terrific.

But that’s only the basic recipe, as you can still customize the Breakfast Crunchwrap further. For less than a dollar each, you can also add extra ingredients such as onions, potatoes, sausage crumbles for more protein, and even a 3-cheese blend.

Adding sauces is another popular option, with the guacamole and the reduced-fat sour cream as the top choices. But the nacho cheese sauce and the green sauce aren’t bad, either.

Grande Scrambler

This one has even more ingredients than the Breakfast Crunchwrap. The Grande Scrambler really is “grande”, as it will just sate your breakfast appetite even as your taste buds appreciate the flavor. Many consider this the absolutely best burrito you can enjoy in the morning.

What makes this option special is that it introduces you to ingredient combinations that you may not have encountered before. Yes, this comes with bacon, egg, and a cheese blend. But you also have sour cream, pico de gallo, potatoes, and the nacho cheese sauce. That sour cream really sets everything together nicely.

Grilled Breakfast Burrito Fiesta Potato

Yes, the name is quite a mouthful, but then so is this breakfast option. You’ve got a tortilla stuffed with potatoes, scrambled eggs, nacho cheese sauce, and pico de gallo, which makes it a flavor party.

It’s true that if you consider all these ingredients closely, you’ll realize that Taco Bell simply took the stuff in their mini skillet bowl, placed it in a tortilla, and then called it breakfast. But those flavors just combine nicely for mornings, so it’s not exactly cheating.

Also, it only costs about a dollar. So, who says you have to stop at just one of these things? Eat up and enjoy!

Grilled Breakfast Burrito

This is like the Grilled Breakfast Burrito Fiesta Potato, except for the notable absence of the potato. If you think that having potatoes for breakfast isn’t really for you, then this might be your go-to option at Taco Bell. You’re getting large amounts of eggs and bacon, plus the excellent nacho cheese sauce.

In this breakfast option, the nacho cheese sauce actually works better in mixing with the eggs and bacon, compared to substituting the 3-cheese blend. With the nacho cheese sauce, it’s like everything’s meant to combine. So, close your eyes, enjoy your breakfast bacon and eggs, enhanced by that nacho cheese sauce.

Mini Skillet Bowl

This is basically the Grilled Breakfast Burrito Fiesta Potato, but in a bowl instead of a tortilla. That makes it easier and neater to eat, especially when you’re riding in your car on your way to work or to school. Just don’t drive and eat this, since that might not be safe when you’re driving and dealing with a fork and the bowl.

You still get ample amounts of egg, with some chunks of potatoes, a bit of the pico de gallo for some nice jolt of flavor, and the nacho cheese sauce on top to finish things nicely. Now eat up, and don’t worry about getting some of the ingredients onto your nice office outfit.

Breakfast Soft Taco

This is actually the only breakfast option on the menu with the word “taco” included. It seems necessary to have at least one of these things, since you are in Taco Bell, after all.

So, what is it? Well, it’s actually just the breakfast quesadilla in taco form. It still tastes good, even if it’s smaller. The size is actually better for breakfast, especially if you’re not into heavy morning feasts. This is crunchless (it’s “soft” after all), but it’s also easy to eat without making a mess on your lap.
